Animated films for institutions: one film for one occasion, or a series that grows, year by year, into a body of work.
Each film is made for a single evening: the ceremony where the laureate sees their own work on the big screen for the first time, in a room full of people who came to honour them.
Each film joins a series: nine films a year, twenty-seven so far, that go out on social media, on the Foundation’s site, and into the laureates’ own classrooms.
A ceremony stage, a gallery wall and a headset in a quiet room ask for three different films. We make each one for where it will be seen.
On the wallThe film and the illustrations, made together for one exhibition, to hang beside the objects they speak about.
In VR there is no frame and no audience: one person, inside the story. Whatever the screen — a headset, a gallery wall, a ceremony stage — we work in it and experience it ourselves before the film is finished.
